GHOST CHAIR
About
Inspired by its versatility, this sculptural chair was designed to challenge the brutalist aesthetic of the most ubiquitous modern building material; concrete. Tackling this project with the scope of material exploration has led to innovating through trial and error. The final product is a hollow chair with a ghostly silhouette that resembles fabric being draped on the ground creating tension yet breathing life into an otherwise cold, lifeless building material.
Challenge
To create a sculptural artifact for sitting made with just concrete and fabric.
Solution
A ghostly figure of a chair that seems to defy the nature of physics but is structurally stable enough to support the weight of an adult.
Medium
Concrete + Fabric
